Hammock Universe was founded by Philippe Bourdeau in 2001. Philippe started the website after being frustrated in his search for a good, quality hammock. Since 2001, Hammock Universe has shipped hammocks all over the world, including Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. Although most Hammock Universe customers originate from Canada and the USA, Hammock Universe is the only online hammock store to offer reliable worldwide shipping. In 2006, Simon Letourneau joined Philippe as co-owner of Hammock Universe. Simon brought on board a "can-do" attitude as well as a diciplined and detail oriented approach to "best-practice" e-commerce shipping and administrative procedures.
