Guelph Contemporary Dance Festival

Description

Established in 1998, the GCDF annually presents a diverse blend of high-calibre dance works that push the boundaries of contemporary dance. The Festival is comprised of five separate series: the Mainstage A & B presentations profile the works of professional choreographers from across Canada, while the Youth Moves Series showcases the work of southern-Ontario dance schools featuring performers under 19 years of age. The Site-Specific, Noon-Time and Off-Site series provide emerging and established artists with the opportunity to perform in distinctive and unique venues throughout Guelph. To inaugurate this year's festival and to honour our participating dancers, we have a Gala Reception following the Friday Mainstage A performance. The GCDF also offers several educational opportunities including the Talkback Sessions, Workshops for the General Public, Workshops in Schools, Linamar for the Performing Arts, Master Classes and the Art Explosions March Break Dance Camp.
