Last year alone, 185 women and 99 children stayed at Marianne’s Place, our emergency shelter. The shelter is always at maximum capacity. G-W Women in Crisis has been a safe haven for women and children in the community for over 30 years.

Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis is dedicated to preventing abuse and violence. Public education promotes awareness and knowledge of issues of woman abuse and sexual violence; it helps to change attitudes to foster healthy relationships and builds a stronger community.

We provide shelter, food, basic toiletries and diapers, wipes, formula and baby food as needed. For any other supports that we cannot provide ourselves, we will connect you to community resources.

We have a staff person who prepares dinner meals for everyone staying at the shelter but you are free to prepare a meal on your own. We provide items for all meals and if you have dietary restrictions or cultural food needs, we will accommodate them as much as possible.
