Grizzly Oil Sands ULC was founded in Calgary, Alberta, Canada as a privately held company in September 2006 by Wexford Capital LP and Gulfport Energy Corp.
Mr. Deets has been Vice President Operations of Grizzly since joining the company in October 2013. He has 44 years of experience in the oil and natural gas business in both domestic and international assignments. Prior to joining Grizzly, Mr. Deets was the Operations Manager of Barrick Energy.
Grizzly is a privately held company with two shareholders that have provided strong capital support. The company has been fully funded by its shareholders since its inception in 2006 through the third quarter of 2013, and also has a credit facility of $125 million. Grizzly intends to continue to fund its development in a prudent manner and be self-funding earlier in the project development cycle than is typical for the oil sands sector.
