Right from the beginning, Wayne has worked to ensure that only quality components are used in the fabrication of equipment for his company. This desire brought about the birth of Grit Industries Inc. in 1998. Grit Industries is a fabrication and development company whose sole purpose was originally to manufacture the equipment needed by Grithog Sand Control Systems Ltd. It has since grown to be the manufacturer of Cold Weather and A-Fire equipment, and has become a sought-after facility for external clients to use in designing and building their own custom equipment.
We build all of our own augers, using our Grit Industries Inc. fabrication facilities. Leveraging our expertise and years of experience in working with augers, we are often called upon to help work up custom augering solutions. In January of 2002, Grithog Sand Control Systems Ltd. was approached about developing below-ground pit clean-outs using our augering technologies. We developed an elevating augering system to tackle this problem, which appeared to yield a 40 to 50 per cent reduction in volume of product that needed to be hauled, as opposed to the previous methodology.

Grit Industries Inc., with its head office in Lloydminster, Alberta is pleased to announce expansion plans into the City of North Battleford Saskatchewan. Grit has acquired the former Peak Manufacturing plant at 100 Canola Avenue in the Parsons Industrial Park at North Battleford, Saskatchewan. Driven by high levels of customer demand for its products and services, Grit has outgrown capacity in its existing facilities.
