Since 1983, the Greater Victoria Police Victim Services (GVPVS) has provided emotional and practical support to victims of crime and trauma. Victims often feel frightened, confused, angry and isolated. With the help of our skilled and dedicated staff and volunteer victim support workers, we provide: - information and emotional support in a confidential setting - referrals to other agencies, services or professionals - orientation & support through the court process - assistance completing Crime Victim Assistance applications & Victim Impact Statements While we can not prevent or eliminate the experience of what a victim of crime goes through, we are here to help through the healing process.
