Gravity Weighing Scales Limited is an ISO registered and Measurement Canada accredited company, and was incorporated in 1969 by the founder, Peter Tyce. Before starting his business in Toronto, Peter Tyce was an apprentice scale mechanic in Wales, who came to Canada in 1956 to continue his career. He was hired by a respected firm of the time, Eastern Scale, and honed his talent as an efficient & skilled mechanic. Having a good sense for business, Peter chose to expand his career and go into business for himself. In 1969, Gravity Weighing Scales Limited was incorporated and their doors were open for business. With several full time mechanics on staff they had the capabilities of servicing and selling any make of scale. Today the only thing that has changed is the face running the daily operations. Peter, who is now retired, handed down the reins to his sons, Andrew, Mike & Nick whose combined knowledge of 60 years, make them valuable assets in fulfilling our customers diverse weigh system requirements. Peter, although no longer participates in the day-to-day running of the business, continues to receive updates from his sons on the various projects of the many long time loyal customers he helped to procure in the early days. Our long time relationships with our well-respected suppliers such as Cardinal Scales, Sartorius Corporation & Rice Lake Weighing Systems offer us quality products and knowledgeable technical support which is paramount for keeping up with the ever changing computerized world and the needs of our customers.
