About

The Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) manages water and other natural resources for 38 municipalities and about one million residents within the Grand River watershed. Established as a partnership of watershed municipalities, the GRCA addresses environmental issues collaboratively, benefiting the entire watershed. Headquartered in Cambridge, Ontario, it is Canada's oldest water management agency and a member of Conservation Ontario, overseeing policies, programs, and a budget approved by a 26-member board of directors. The GRCA generates about half of its revenue through park fees, camping, hydroelectricity, and service charges, with the remainder funded by municipalities and governments, focusing on conservation, recreation, and sustainable resource management.
