As we inch ever closer to summer, we have been celebrating our seniors all over Alberta, during Seniors Week. We were seen down in Rimbey, Alberta, all over Edmonton as well as north to St Albert showing our TeleCare products and talking about our services. We were able to connect with many familiar faces that use TeleCare services and a few more who came out to learn about us. We just wanted to take a moment to say one more "Thank You" for your support and to let you know how honored we are to provide service to all of our clients, young and elderly. We wish you all a wonderful summer!

Good Samaritan Society TeleCare provides personal emergency response systems to clients across Canada with the majority based in Alberta and BC. We are looking to add to our small group of volunteers who work in the community to install our TeleCare equipment. The set-up is simple and consists of a land telephone line connection and a power outlet (similar to an answering machine). Our volunteers also test the equipment with the client to ensure they are comfortable using it and all is working well.

We will have a booth at the upcoming Alberta College of Social Workers Annual Conference at the Calgary Telus Convention Centre, which runs Wednesday March 20 to Friday March 22. This year's theme, 'Shaping our World: Where Social Work and Technology Meet' is a natural fit for TeleCare's products and services. We provide our clients with technology to assist them in remaining independent in their own homes and providing peace of mind for families and care givers.

We provide monitoring services for all types of situations. From fall and flood detection to temperature monitoring.

Well winter has landed here in Edmonton in full force, we are all hunkering down and going into hibernation mode. Winter also can create more opportunities for social isolation. It is common for people to remain at home more in our inclement weather times and to not see other people as often through social activities or daily tasks such as shopping. TeleCare can offer some assistance in these situations with our Care Call service where we provide a daily phone call to a loved one to ensure daily contact.
