Description
This course is 4 weeks long. We provide the tools, the materials and a comfortable work setting. The shop has many windows and radiant in-floor heat, so in the winter time it's quite a cozy place to be. Each student has their own workplace/bench and set of tools. Basic hand tool experience is an asset, but not required. Each student is expected to demonstrate a willingness to learn and a respect for their tools. We use a combination of hand tools and power tools, but the majority of time is spent developing skills with hand tools. Students can choose between a steel string acoustic guitar and a classical. I encourage you to come to the course with a good idea of the style of guitar you would like to build and the body shape. Even general dimensions are a good idea. Because this course is only 4 weeks long, we have to find a good balance with our time. Cost of the course is $2500.00 Canadian. This includes the cost of the materials. A $500.00 deposit is required a minimum of 1 month prior to the start of the course to ensure a spot is saved for you. The guitar you build here is the guitar you keep! Highschool diploma is required and minimum age 18 years to participate. Lodging is available, please inquire. Upcoming course dates: January 18 th to February 12th, 2010 March 22nd to April 23rd, 2010
