Welcome to the 2008 Global Visions Film Festival! Now in our 27th year, we are again pleased to present Edmonton with the best and latest in documentary film from all over the world. From November 6 to 9, you are invited to discover the most extraordinary, exciting and artistically outstanding films on the big screen. In these days of world wide economical and political unrest we present 37 award winning stories about the unbelievable human capacity to resist, adapt and create. After last year's thrilling success with an increase in audience by 80 percent, the Global Visions Festival Society felt under a lot of pressure whether we would be able to jump the high bar. I dare to say that we will succeed, thanks to our outstanding festival team. Spearheaded by General Manager Katherine Hoy, our coordinators and volunteers have pulled together an unforgettable event in down town Edmonton. Out of 180 titles our program director Graydon McCrea and his marvelous team of movie loving volunteers have chosen a line up of films that will exceed all expectations. ...
