Glacier Glass was established in 1979 by Peter and Linda Halbgewachs as a small enterprise, renting a small building located at 404 Quebec St. in Regina. It at first was a one man, one women operation, Peter having the expertise and ambition to do the work involved in starting up his own glass shop and Linda who handled the office and clerical work. Soon after, Peter's youngest brother, Darrell, was ready for a new career adventure and joined the team. There was only one truck and one crew. No job was too small, large, or difficult. We were willing to take on almost anything. Gradually the referral's spread and the company had to hire more staff and new crews to handle the work loads. Peters son, Jamie joined the team in 1990 and has worked with his Dad and is currently V.P and General Manager at Glacier Glass. As the work loads expanded, so did Glacier Glass. As buildings became vacant on either side of the location at 404 Quebec St. Glacier took them over. New space was required too incorporate a sealed unit line which was added in 1993. And the newest renovation of a new service counter and showroom in 1998. In 2001 an addition to the back of the building began and was completed in the spring of 2002. Today Glacier Glass now has taken up 404, 410 and 418 Quebec St. We employ 40 employees and have gone from 1 truck crew to now having a fleet of 16 vehicles.
