Background Melissa Gilbert grew up in Kamloops, BC and attended Emily Carr Institute in Vancouver, BC from 2002-2006. She currently resides in Revelstoke, BC but will travel to all areas to photograph weddings. Her photography prices are well below the market average because she believes in offering quality service and affordable pricing. As a 2008 bride herself, she knows how much weddings cost and can work with any budget. How It All Began The idea to start her own wedding business was sparked when she was the assistant photographer for her brother's wedding in 2005. She officially started her own wedding business and created her custom greeting card and guestbook line shortly after graduation. Of all of the art related work she does, she enjoys wedding photography the most and hopes to make it a full time venture. About My Services I am a wedding photographer because I enjoy working with people. I take pleasure in all aspects of weddings and words do not describe how lucky I am to do this for a living. Your day is about you - therefore I strive to be as invisible as possible while taking pictures without forfeiting quality. I am more than happy to adapt my style to suit yours - in my portfolio you will see examples of both traditional and contemporary, posed and candid styles all as specified by the bride and groom. We can meet in person, over the phone or by email. We will be in contact in the months prior to your wedding, during which time we will discuss the package, style of photos and types of poses.
