Established in 1969, Georgian Bay Fire & Safety Ltd. has become one of the largest life safety and property protection companies in Ontario. For more than 3 decades, Georgian Bay Fire & Safety Ltd. has been servicing the Ontario market providing quality fire, security and communication systems as well as safety equipment to a wide variety of commercial and residential clients. A former employee of Canox in Owen Sound, Nelson McKay saw the growing need for fire inspection services and formed Georgian Bay Fire & Safety Supplies in Owen Sound. It began as a fire extinguisher recharging service company and through its strong commitment to customer service the corporation was able to expand into the life safety and property protection markets. Under the leadership of Nelson's son, Tim, expansion plans were put in place. In 1988 the first branch office was opened in Stratford and managed by partner Jeff Taylor. With the support of their employees, the two have managed to build the business to more than 65 employees and 40 mobile service units dispatched from 4 locations across Ontario. Georgian Bay's mission is to provide superior service and expert advice to their customers in all areas of life safety and property protection.
