Description
In 1954, our parent company, Guild Electric Limited, was created to provide contracting services to the electrical construction industry. Shortly thereafter, Guild also began providing installation and ongoing maintenance for traffic signal systems. As Guild became a recognized force in the industry, it established a Traffic Division to service the traffic departments of municipal, regional and provincial governments. In the late 1970's, Fortran Traffic Systems Limited was formed as a wholly owned subsidiary of Guild Electric Limited. Fortran's purpose: to specialize and expand upon Guild Electric's expertise in traffic control.
