Established in 1983, Focal Technologies Corp. , a part of Moog Components Group, designs, manufactures, and sells rotary couplings - fibre optic rotary joints, electrical slip rings and fluid rotary unions - as well as fibre optic multiplexers and media converters.

Focal's employees have expertise in a variety of engineering disciplines including mechanical and electrical engineering, electronics, software, optics, materials and testing. Focal maintains a security cleared 35,000 ft. 2 manufacturing and product development facility in the Burnside Industrial Park in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. An ISO 9001:2000 facility, Focal's products are sold world wide mainly to the marine, defence and industrial markets, both directly and through agents.
