Description

Fire Detection Devices Ltd. has been supplying the world market with heat detection solutions for over 50 years. Our reputation for product quality and integrity has earned the respect of fire alarm system engineers worldwide.

The company was founded in 1962 by Jack Duggan, a lifetime member of NFPA and the founding president of the Canadian Fire Alarm Association. Jack dedicated his life to the design and development of the most reliable heat detector on the market. In 1964, Underwriters Laboratories of Canada certified the first of the THERMOFLEX™ products. Jack passed away in 2005 in his 91st year; his legacy lives on in the thousands of THERMOFLEX™ products installed worldwide.

Fire Detection Devices Ltd. is a family-owned Canadian company supplying the world market with more than 100 models of spot-type heat detectors for fire alarm systems. We consider reliability to be our top priority and use only the best quality materials, all of which are sourced from Canada and the United States. Our precise manufacturing processes, coupled with rigorous calibration and testing procedures, guarantee a detector of the highest quality – a guarantee that is reflected in our 10-year warranty.

Designed and manufactured by Fire Detection Devices Ltd., THERMOFLEX™ heat detectors are recognized as the most reliable solution to spot-type heat detection requirements. Our construction, calibration and intricate testing techniques ensure decades-long functionality. The THERMOFLEX™ product line features a variety of different models, providing a solution for all environments including outdoor and hazardous area applications.

In a word: Reliability. As a life safety device, it is extremely important that the THERMOFLEX™ detector be designed and manufactured to maximize its ability to sense and respond to a specific rate of temperature increase. This important tracking capability does not change with time. With the THERMOFLEX™ series, calibration procedures at the time of manufacture ensure that repeated field testing of the detector does not affect its capability to respond properly to a temperature increase.
