Fimetrics Systems Ltd was founded in 1991 as a software development enterprise concentrating on personal financial planning. The product which evolved came from an early attempt to understand the RRIF/RRSP as it behaved over time. The name RRIFmetic ('sounds like arithmetic') has been kept even as the product outgrew its origins. The flagship product, RRIFmetic Pro, has evolved over the years to become the foremost tax-based financial planning tool of its kind and represents 10 person years of effort. The developer has over 35 years in the computer industry. He has a strong engineering and mathematics background, which were instrumental in developing the complex algorithms at the core of RRIFmetic's 'reverse tax engine'.
