FERO Corporation has manufactured and distributed masonry ties since 1985. FERO ties are designed to facilitate the construction of masonry cavity walls and masonry veneer walls that satisfy the need for larger cavities. FERO ties secure the insulation permanently against the back up wall, provide for enhanced structural performance and to accommodate for construction tolerances. The use of the F.A.S.T. system to support masonry veneer or other cladding systems at every floor level will reduce the cost by up to 50%. All of the FERO systems have been thoroughly tested in complete assemblies, including the masonry components, in accordance with CSA standard A370 “Connectors for Masonry”. Their performance also exceeds all established guidelines and design criteria of the ACI code. The development work and documentation was supervised by Dr. Michael A. Hatzinikolas , formerly executive director of the Canadian Masonry Research Institute, and adjunct professor of Civil Engineering Department of the University of Alberta. We encourage designers and contractors to review the information contained on our website. The technical information, the animated installation procedures and the state of the art masonry details for cavity and veneer walls will assist designers and builders in making the best choices in choosing masonry accessories. We are also available to provide our customers with engineering support, as it relates to masonry tie and masonry design in general. We carry two computer programs available for the structural design of single wythe and cavity walls; as well, we have state of the art details for all types of structures.
