Feature Foods International began as a small family business and has grown to become one of the largest producers of marinated herring products in North America. The expertise and dedication that originated in small Northern European communities generations ago, was brought to North America by father and son "herring slingers" Solomon and Joseph Krongold. Establishing a Toronto manufacturing facility in the 1930s, Solomon was among the first to promote the use of Canadian herring as a food supply. Joseph incorporated Feature Foods in 1968 and through his hard work and vision Feature Foods grew into a successful company. A third generation of "herring slingers" now owns and operates Feature Foods. In 2002 Joseph's oldest son Lorne, having honed his skills growing up in the herring business, established Feature Foods International Inc. Today Lorne proudly carries his father's vision and strives to keep his heritage of premium quality manufacturing alive and well. Under Lorne's leadership Feature Foods International Inc. manufactures in a world class facility. Combining state of the art automated technology, dramatically increased production capacity, the highest standards of quality control and modern hygienic conditions, a skilled production and management team of approximately 40 people, and a decades old family commitment to an excellent and delicious line of products, Feature Foods is proud to be your seafood and sauce destination.
