This website is an information center for people like you, people who have a dream to live in Italy or those who just love Italy, written by ex-pats who have already made the move. We hope to be able to supply as much information and as many links as possible to make your dream a reality. Many questions can only be answered by contacting your local Italian consulate. Things like how much income for retirees and work quotas vary from consulate to consulate so please contact them on these subjects. Where to start? In our opinion, you need to first find out if it is even a possibility. Can you legally and financially make the move? What are your options (types of visas, citizenship, etc.) and how long will they take? Options? There are many different ways to come over but all entail a lot of paperwork, running around and aggravation. Are you up for it? Then your first stop should be your local Italian Consulate's Website to get the latest rundown on what you will need. From there you can get to their pages on the different visas or better yet, the pages on citizenship if you can claim it.
