While almost any roof style (pitched, flat, steel, rubber, asphalt) can be appropriate for a solar system, it is true that you will want to install your array over a roof in good condition – one that will require minimal maintenance over the life of your solar array (up to 50 years!). Most arrays can be removed and re-installed reasonably if roof repair is needed many years down the road, but it is best to install solar over a roof already in good repair.

We chose EthoSolar as our partner in PV for several reasons. The team was well educated and took time to teach us about solar. EthoSolar is a reputable company, which translated well when dealing with our bank.

The limited space available for panels on the two barns posed the greatest challenge with this project. Our solution involved designing a system that would produce despite not having an ideal amount of roof space for a project of this size.
