The International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) and the International Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE) work together to advance research and to improve the quality of life for those afflicted with epilepsy. The two organizations work in collaboration to raise awareness around the world and help to provide a broader understanding of the nature of epilepsy and the needs of persons with epilepsy. Founded in 1909, the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) is the world's preeminent association of physicians and other health professionals working towards a world where no persons' life is limited by Epilepsy. Its mission is to provide the highest quality of care and well-being for those afflicted with the condition and other related seizure disorders.
