Community Adjustment Funds As a partner in the delivery of the Southwestern Ontario Community Adjustment Fund (SWCAF), Enterprise Brant (Brant Community Futures Development Corporation) has grants available for organizations that operate in Brantford/Brant County. The SWCAF has been created to support projects that enhance the community capacity for economic development within Brantford/Brant County. Enterprise Brant is currently accepting applications for hiring interns and local initiatives. Please note that these applications are time sensitive and has an application deadline. Because of the high demand that was previously received in the first phase of SWCAF, you are encouraged to apply as soon as possible as limited funds are available. Deadline "“ July 23, 2010 (applications will be taken until the funds run out) Hiring Interns Internship funding is intended to provide postsecondary graduates or recent graduates of training programs with valuable skills from full-time work experience with the objective of leading to longer term employment in Brantford and Brant County. Organizations can receive up to $2,500 per month for each intern until December 2010. -Not-for-profits can receive up to 100% of the cost of the intern. Interns are expected to have recently completed some form of training and will use the internship experience to gain access into their chosen field. Organizations that currently have laid off workers are not eligible for funding. Local Initiatives Projects Local Initiative Projects funding is available to support local community-based initiatives, which create economic development and diversification within Brantford/Brant County. All projects must be incremental and partnerships are encouraged. The maximum grant under Local Initiatives is $10,000. Applicant must be a not-for profit.
