Success continues to mark the progress of Emerald Seed Products, a long-time client and supporter of POS Pilot Plant. New equipment at the company's expanded processing plant allows for on-site isolation and extraction of fenugreek gums (galactomannan) for nutraceutical and mainstream food products. In addition to these new capabilities, Emerald provides toll processing services such as fractionation, fine-milling, and classification services for a variety of plant materials and seeds. To ensure that their products meet all regulatory requirements, Emerald Seeds has implemented the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) quality control programs. Ingredients produced at the Emerald facility are used in over 30 countries to target diabetes, high cholesterol, and obesity. Emerald Seed Products of Avonlea, Saskatchewan, was established by Blaine Sudom and Cal Kelly in 1996. Since that time, the company has worked with POS to develop new processes that yeild unique compounds from fenugreek. POS continues to support Emerald on new product development endeavours.
