Elmira Farm Service began in February of 1955 with the opening of its first store on Church Street in Elmira where the store still stands today, albeit expanded with a number of improvements over the years. The founding father of Elmira Farm Service was Emerson Brubacher. Emerson worked hard over the years to build the reputation of Elmira Farm Service as not only a provider of quality farm equipment but also for being one of the best dealers in Ontario providing parts and service to the customer. As John Deere began to widen its customer base by offering new product lines, so too did Elmira Farm Service. Over the years, as John Deere expanded into areas such as lawn care equipment, toys and merchandise, Elmira Farm Service expanded with them by offering their customers new products and services that they needed.
