Description
EDI is dedicated to providing professional services for clients in the private sector, municipal governments, regional districts, provincial/territorial and federal agencies, and First Nations in western and northern Canada.
EDI works with BC Hydro, Yukon Energy Corporation, Yukon Electric Co., and independent power producers including small hydro and large run-of-river proponents on electricity generation and transmission projects. Additionally, EDI works with alternative energy providers such as wind power and bioenergy technologies. Our staff are current in the leading issues and opportunities available in this sector.
EDI has extensive experience providing environmental monitoring services to prevent and mitigate potential environmental impacts in all aquatic and terrestrial science components. We assist our clients to ensure their activities do not contravene applicable regulations and policies, and to effectively demonstrate their due diligence.
EDI was founded and opened by Dwight Hickey in Prince George BC in 1994. Dwight had a vision for building a meaningful business that was built on quality and providing growth opportunities for dynamic people. Dwight has since passed away; however, his vision for the company is still reflected in our culture and our operations. During our 20 years we have grown to five offices and approximately 80 people.
We specialize in completing succinct and effective environmental assessments. Our work in western and northern Canada includes terrestrial, aquatic and land use components of submissions for the BC Environmental Assessment Act, the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, the National Energy Board, the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Act, and the Nunavut Impact Review Board.
