Description

This martial art retail business first opened in late 1991 in Prince George, B.C., Canada and was originally called APW Distributing. APW Distributing changed its name to Dragon Impact in the fall of 1992 after acquiring D & T Martial Arts. Dragon Impact was the first B.C. martial art supplier to sell to a School District and Government Funded First Nations Reserve Martial Art School. Dragon Impact promoted Northern Martial Art clubs and was recognized by several clubs through-out Canada and the US. In the fall of 1999 Dragon Impact closed down operations and moved to North Vancouver, B.C. where it started selling product via on-line marketplaces. Now in Victoria, B.C. after a move in late June of 2001. For several years the company sold through the local Flea Market in order to fund the owner's post-secondary education. With help from the Business Development Centre's Student Venture Program, Dragon Impact was able to expand and diversify its product selection.
