Description

The Dorje Denma Ling and the Rigden Dzong Program Center is located within the Cobequid Mountains of Nova Scotia, in an area known as The Falls. A one and a half-hour drive northwest of Halifax and a convenient ten minute drive from the small town of Tatamagouche, the center is situated within easy access of services such as grocery store, laundromat, pharmacy, hospital and all other amenities - as well as nearby sites of interest such as sandy beaches and the striking waterfall from which the local area derives its name. The heart of Dorje Denma Ling itself lies in the practice and teaching of the Shambhala and Buddhist traditions, as taught by the late Venerable Chogyam Trungpa, Rinpoche and the present leader his son, Sakyong Mipham, Rinpoche. It is one of many centres throughout Europe and North America that operates under the parent organization of Shambhala International. As a retreat and conference facility, the centre hosts a wide variety of international, regional and local workshops and programs. With its expansive layout of spacious two-person tents for summer attendants and newly-constructed dormitory rooms for programs in the winter months, the centre is capable of accommodating up to 80 participants. As well as a variety of sleeping accommodations, the centre additionally includes a dining hall, indoor shrine rooms, staff quarters, kitchen, shower rooms and bathrooms, and an outdoor pavilion...
