2014-05-27 15:03:08 As Customs brokers have noticed, the community has been scrutinizing resent Canada Customs Notice N-14-008. The Notice underlined the requirement that the importer of record named in boxes 14, 16 and/or 17 on Transport Canada’s Form 1 has to be the same as the importer of record named on the Canada Customs release transaction and B3 coding form. In case of a non-compliance with the requirement, the shipments would be held by Customs. Therefore, CBSA and Transport Canada came to find a solution, indicated in the following.

Our process for registering business clients is fast and simple. All you need is your business RM0001 identifier account number (import/export account) with Revenue Canada before proceeding to our account setup page. If your company currently doesn’t have an RM account, but you have a business number (GST number), you can add an RM account by calling the Canada Revenue Agency at 1-800-959-5525. They will give you an RM number.

Agency Agreement — authorizes Dilas International Customs brokers to file import declarations to Canada Customs on importer's behalf. Your company must have a business number export/import account (RM account). If you do not have this account, please call Revenue Agency at 1-800-959-5525 and request them to add an export/import account to your business number.
