Dayliter Skylights....... The BRIGHTER Idea! Serving Greater Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, across Canada, the United States and International customers since 1979 VCM - Vinyl Curb Mount Skylights Myths abound about using skylights for daylighting. It produces glare, it produces excessive heat, and it’s just too expensive. Despite these past misconceptions, increasingly building owners are learning about effective natural lighting design and its benefits. Skylights can provide interior living spaces with the warmth and brightness of natural daylight. Their ability to enhance almost any interior has made them increasingly popular. Installing a trouble-free, energy-efficient skylights can be the best thing you do for yourself, your family and your home. As well as light, skylights can provide ventilation and roof access. Ventilating a building through an opening skylight releases the hot air that naturally accumulates near the ceiling. Moreover, daylighting, in combination with energy-efficient lighting, can reduce the lighting power density in homes, schools and commercial and office buildings without lowering lighting levels. For more information on the Truth Hardware brand of operators for venting skylights, visit our accessories page . DID YOU KNOW? Glass skylights should NOT be used on flat, or low pitched (under 3:12) roofs? - If water is allowed to pool on the flat surface, it will in time, break down the seal of your dual-glazed glass unit and in turn - shortening the life of your skylight. At Dayliter, we saw the need for another type of skylight; something that would allow those with flat or very low pitched roofs to be able to use a Low E2 glass skylight and still be able to enjoy their product for more than just a few years. Dayliter created the Dayliter Insulite Skylight. This skylight consists of the typical double glazed Low E2 and incorporates a single low profile dome on top of it. The dome serves to repel the water from the flat surface, as well as giving the double glazed sealed unit, a third layer and increasing the insulating properties even further.
