Cadillac is currently the 2nd oldest automaker in America behind Buick, and one of the oldest brands in the world. Depending who you talk to and how you look at it, the argument has been made that Cadillac is older than Buick. Cadillac was founded in 1902 by Henry Leland and named the company after the founder of Detroit, Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac. Cadillac was eventually purchased by GM in 1909.
