Correng Consulting Service, a wholly owned subsidiary of Corrosion Service Company Limited, provides consulting engineering services to the public and industry. CORRENG was founded in 1990 to bring together a team of highly specialized individuals in the fields of electrical, chemical, and materials engineering, to provide the expertise required to investigate corrosion problems and recommend reliable, safe, and cost-effective solutions. Corrosion Service has been a leader in the science of corrosion prevention since it was founded in 1950. Electrochemical corrosion mitigation methods such as anodic & cathodic protection systems have been developed to provide outstanding corrosion control results. Although ECDA field assessment techniques are well established, specialized field equipment and staff experienced in the collection, recording, and analysis of data are necessary to obtain reliable and meaningful results. Corrosion Service quickly embraced the new ECDA techniques and both our field and professional staff are well versed in their application. We are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for surveys and the collection of data which is then analyzed by professional engineers with many years of pipeline corrosion prevention experience.
At normal operating levels, cathodic protection will not mitigate AC corrosion to above a certain AC current threshold density. As a result, AC mitigation is often required to prevent this type of corrosion. Using AC mitigation techniques, the AC current density is maintained below a critical value to prevent AC corrosion of a steel pipeline. Corrosion Service is a world leader in AC mitigation.
