Connect Logistics Services was founded in 1994. That year, the government of Alberta privatized its liquor retail and distribution system. Connect Logistics Services was formed to provide dedicated third-party liquor warehousing and distribution services for the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC). In June 1994, Connect Logistics Services was awarded the contract to manage the existing liquor distribution warehouse for AGLC. In May 1996, Connect Logistics Services assumed sole responsibility for liquor distribution in Alberta. In 2000, the company launched liquorconnect.com, an on-line liquor distribution system. In 2004, the LiquorConnect website was updated to provide additional functionality. Connect Logistics Services is currently headquartered in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada. The company employs approximately 180 people to provide third-party liquor distribution, warehousing, and logistics services in Alberta and to other areas of Canada. In July 2004, Connect Logistics Services joined the Exel Group www.Exel.com
