Conger's Jewellers

Description

Conger's Jewellers specializes in custom jewellery design, expert appraisals and repairs. The business was established in 1981 by David Conger. David is a Graduate Gemologist who studied in residence at GIA in California.

After graduation, he began working in Toronto for ACT II International and fine jewellery store. While working for ACT II, he helped establish Toronto's first while-you-wait jewellery appraisal service, an instant success. Credit goes to Sol Unger (the store owner) for making this happen.

In time, David returned to Ottawa to establish his own appraisal service. At the time, Ottawa had very few Gemologists and appraisals were often sent to Toronto to be done. Conger's Gemmological Services Ltd. was established and became a big success, offering the service to 30 retail jewellery stores as well as Revenue Canada (CRA), Customs and Excise.

In 1992, Conger established a jewellery store in Ottawa's west end at the Hampton Park Plaza. This is called "Conger's Jewellers." Today Conger's has a strong and well developed business as a preferred vendor for several insurance companies (receives referrals when customers need help replacing or repairing jewellery). In addition, the store provides the services that are nearly impossible to find in larger mall stores.

Products include diamond engagement rings, Canadian Diamonds, wedding bands, pearls, watches, silver jewellery, diamond jewellery, gold chains, etc.
