Compliance Energy Corporation (‘CEC’) is a Canadian resource company that has coal interests in British Columbia, Canada. Through the Comox Joint Venture (‘CJV’), CEC owns 60% of the Raven Underground Coal project and is the manager & operator of the CJV. The semi–soft coking coal resource is 43–101 compliant and consists of 72M tonnes of measured & indicated, as well as, 59M tonnes of inferred. Just 82km (50 miles) from a deep water port, the Raven project is a near term producer ideally situated near power and transportation corridors.

Jamieson Merritt graduated in 1990 with a L.L.B. (Law) degree from the University of British Columbia and was called to the bar in 1991. Mr. Merritt has over 10 years of experience in business and financial management across a number of industries including; technology, law, and construction/development. Mr. Merritt has gained invaluable business experience while operating his own development company and prior to that as a key member of a software development firm. Mr. Merritt is currently President of Arbutus Point Development Ltd.

Compliance Energy Corporation (“Compliance”) is a Canadian resource company that was incorporated under the provisions of the British Columbia Company Act on July 27, 2000, and on August 30, 2002, changed its name to Compliance Energy Corporation.

During 2008, the definitive agreements signed with I–Comox Coal Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of ITOCHU Corporation and LG International Investments ( Canada) Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of LG International Corporation (the “Parties”) provided for the creation of a new joint venture named the Comox Joint Venture to investigate the possibilities of developing the Raven Coal Project located 80 km northwest of Nanaimo, BC.

ITOCHU Corporation is a major Japanese trading house and, among other things, has extensive experience in the development of coal mines and the marketing and sale of coal globally and has investments in coal mines in Australia and Indonesia. ITOCHU had annual revenues of $29 billion US and Net Income of $2.2 billion in the fiscal year ended March 2008.
