Description
We are unique in this community. We led the way in showing the community at large that amalgamations can work. It takes patience, compromise and goodwill on the part of the volunteers, clients and staff. We are able to serve the entire County much more effectively. In 1998, as the result of a study done by the Ministry of Health, two services previously housed with another agency were transferred to us. Transportation and Friendly Visiting Service are provided by our agency now. At the annual meeting in June 1999 the membership approved by-law changes. Our Board size was reduced from 20 to 17 and the name of the agency changed to Community Care Peterborough. The name more clearly reflects what we do. Considerable work had to be done on legal and other requirements to effect this change.
