Description

The CLINIQUE DE CHIRURGIE PLASTIQUE DE MONTREAL was founded in 1961 by Dr. Georges E. Cloutier in order to establish a centre of excellence in plastic surgery. Dr Cloutier was a Canadian pioneer in plastic surgery and, in 1947, was also a founding member of the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr Cloutier also dedicated part of his practice at the Hopital Notre Dame in Montreal, a University of Montreal teaching hospital. Dr Cloutier passed away in July of 2002 at the age of 90. After its establishment, two exceptional surgeons, Dr Claude G. Dupont and Dr Yves A. Prevost, were asked to join the clinic. Dr Dupont and Dr Prevost, both former chiefs of plastic surgery at the Hopital Notre-Dame, were instrumental in establishing one of the first plastic surgery teaching programs in Canada. Between 1963 and 1979, their teaching program produced the specialists who represent the core of plastic surgery care in Quebec. Similarly, at our clinic, both established international reputations at providing state-of-the-art care in aesthetic surgery. Needless to say, both men quickly became respected leaders in the specialty and art of plastic surgery. Although retired from active practice, Dr. Dupont and Dr Prevost remain consultants to our practicing surgeons at our Clinic.
