Description

( Internationaler Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Wettbewerb ) in Leipzig, Germany on July 17, 2010 . This prestigious competition, open to musicians over the age of 16 of any nationality, takes place over ten days as part of the Bachfest Leipzig . It was founded in 1950 and was held every four years from 1964 to 1996 with five categories. Since 1997 it has been held every two years with three changing categories of competition. This years' categories were piano, harpsichord and violin/baroque violin.
