Description

The Child Health Network for the Greater Toronto Area (CHN) is a unique collaboration of experienced maternal, newborn and child health experts whose membership is comprised of the nineteen (19) hospitals and five (5) Community Care Access Centres (CCACs) that deliver maternal, newborn and paediatric services. The goal of the Network is to develop a regional system to deliver high-quality, accessible, family-centered care for mothers, newborns, children and youth. The CHN operates in Canada's largest and most diverse metropolitan area. The Greater Toronto Area birth population represents 41 percent of the province's total with just under half of Ontario's mothers and children being served by the Network. Collectively, Network members have the critical mass required to bring about significant change that would be difficult for any single organization to achieve. The CHN does this by pooling member resources, expertise, experience and ideas, and generating collaborative solutions to current challenges. The Network also works with the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care to plan and implement changes that will improve service delivery, service outcomes, research and education.
