Description
300 feet per panel of straight tubing without any joint, eliminating any plastic solder which could cause possible leaking. Made of black polyethylene plastic, mounted in a metal rack. A solar disk is 6 foot long (2 meters) in diameter. The weight of each panel is 20 pounds. (9 kg) ___________________________________________________________________ HOW DOES IT WORK? The water is diverted by a manual or electrical valve through the solar disk. The water is thus heated by the sun and returns to the pool continuously. That process repeats itself and gets the pool warm. ___________________________________________________________________ HOW MANY DEGREES WILL THE POOL GAIN IN A DAY? During a full sunny day, the average increase for an above ground pool is 10 f. degrees / 6 c. and for an inground pool the increase will be 6 f. degrees / 4 c. (based on a 50% configuration pool surface coverage by panels and also the use of an appropriate pump for the solar system. ___________________________________________________________________ WHY USE A SOLAR BLANKET? During a single night, when the pool is sitting at 86 f. / 30 c. and the outside temperature is 50 f. / 10 c., if you do not use the solar blanket, the pool temperature will drop by 12 f. / 7 c. for an above ground pool and by 7 f. / 4 c. for an inground pool. If you had been using your solar blanket, the actual loss would have been 7 f. / 4 c. for an above ground pool and 3 f. / 1.5 c. for an inground pool. The use of a solar blanket will reduce by 50% the number of disks required in order to get the results mentioned in the configuration page. ___________________________________________________________________ HOW TO USE THE SOLAR BLANKET? The solar blanket does not heat. It is used to keep the heat during the night and sometimes days during your swimming season. When the temperature of your pool is below the outside temperature (in the shade) then you should remove your blanket to let the sun heat your pool. If the temperature of the pool is 86 f. / 30 c. and there is a sunny day but the temperature outside is 74 f. / 24 c., then you should keep your blanket. ___________________________________________________________________ No electricity, oil, gaz, etc... It will pay itself back in heating costs within 2 years; less than one year if the pool is kept very warm. CPSL solar disks are the least expansive of all types of heating systems. ___________________________________________________________________
