The CDEM is proud to announce that Mrs. Michele Lecuyer-Hutton of Access Direct Promotions in St. Boniface was named the winner in the category Micro-companies at the national contest Lauriers de la PME 2007 (a national contest which recognizes outstanding small and medium-sized francophone enterprises SMEs across Canada). A gala evening to crown the winners was held on Saturday, November 10th, 2007, at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier in Ottawa. A total of 35 SMEs were chosen as finalists for the contest, which was attended by representatives of the public and private sectors as well as members of the provincial and territorial member organizations of the national network RDEE (The National Francophone Economic Development Network). The four categories under consideration were the following: Processing Companies, Service Companies, Micro-Companies and New Companies. Michele Lecuyer-Hutton founded her business in 2001 to cater to the demand in Manitoba's Francophone community in the market of various promotional items. Access Direct Promotions went on to open a satellite office in St. Georges, Manitoba and another regional office is being planned. Access Direct Promotions has become a major player in the Francophone market for promotional items in Manitoba and has made significant inroads in other areas as well.
