Description
Stephen M. Rush - Security and Compliance - was with Visa for more than 13 years. While at Visa, he was responsible for PIN Security education worldwide and for assuring compliance with Visa's PIN Security program in the Canada Region. As a part of this responsibility, he has conducted more than 400 PIN Security Field Reviews at a variety of organizations, including Members, Processors, merchants, ISOs, and ESOs. Most of these reviews were carried out in the USA, but he has also reviewed compliance at entities in the Canada, Asia-Pacific and Latin America/Caribbean Regions. Prior to assuming this responsibility, Mr. Rush managed a number of projects within the Payment Technologies and Acquirer Systems Divisions of Visa. These included design work on Visa Cash, Extended Service Codes, Y2K Expiration Dates, CVV2 and Flexible Cutoff. He also served as the Project Manager for the new edition of the Card Technology Standards Manual. He holds a B. S. in Mathematics from the University of Rochester and an MBA in Information Systems from the Edward S. Ageno School of Business, Golden Gate University. He is a Certified Management Consultant in the Province of Ontario and a member of the Institute of Management Consultants of Ontario. He holds the faculty rank of Adjunct Professor in the Ageno School of Business, Golden Gate University and is the author of numerous articles on various information systems and security topics. Barbara L. Dowie - Marketing & Strategic Alliances - is a Principal Associate of The Guthrie Group, Incorporated, specializing in marketing and promoting strategic alliances for software and e-commerce companies. Barb retired in 2003 from Oasis Incorporated, USA, a subsidiary of Oasis Technology Canada and a developer of mainframe card payment processing switches. She was Director of their e-commerce alliances group, developing partnerships with strategic USA software companies, including Sybase, Oracle, Samsung, HP, Hitachi, etc. Barb served as Project Manager in the business development group at Micro Focus, (a COBOL microprocessor compiler software company) before transferring to their Y2K group as marketing manager. She also worked as a consultant to Providian Bank to manage compliance of their e-commerce group through the Y2K transition. Barb's experience in the Canadian banking industry includes Toronto Dominion Bank's systems group, working on their Visa card payment processing application systems, then Bank of Montreal in their Information Technology Group, providing support and training for office automation to PC end-users.
