Casa DO Alentejo Community Centre

Description

Casa do Alentejo is a Community Centre which has been open to all Canadians for twenty-four years. It is located at 1130 Dupont Street, Toronto, in the heart of the Portuguese Community. This organization provides unique opportunities for all Canadians to gain an appreciation of the different cultural values and norms which contribute to the social Canadian landscape. All members and those who are connected to the centre are proud not only of its accomplishments during the last twenty-four years, but also for the significant role it plays in the life of the Portuguese Community in Toronto. The organization, Casa do Alentejo Community Centre, has contributed immensely to all Canadians of diverse age groups. Students have always been a welcome group. The Centre provides a recreation room for student organizations, such as YUPA and UTPA of both universities in Toronto. This room is primarily used for Halloween and Christmas parties. Students attend the Centre on regular basis not only for pleasure but for conference meetings as well.
