Carlton Films was established in Quebec in November 2004 with the aim of handling the theatrical release of Lakefront (2004) and the television and DVD sales of Women Without Wings (2002) which was produced by our sister company Cinegraphe Productions Inc. The company is presently in negotiation for several foreign feature films which it intends to distribute theatrically in Canada. Other titles distributed by the company include the one-hour documentary special, Martin Frobisher and the Baffin Fraud (2005) which won a Gold Remi at the Houston Worldfest 2005. One of the principal aims of the company is to try to emulate the Quebec success story in Atlantic Canada. The success of Quebec films has been phenomenal. Mambo Italiano, La Grande Seduction, Camping Sauvage, and Les Invasions Barbares are breaking new ground after films such as Boys I- II-III, Cruising Bar, Elvis Gratton, etc. Surprisingly Quebec films until recently were not very exportable...
