January 29, 2010: Cardiknits' 5th Academy will be April 30 & May 1, 2010. We are delighted to have two demonstrators that are returning by popular demand: Iris Bishop from the UK and Carolyn Barnett. This should be a very creative weekend! Registration for the Academy will begin on February 1st with a limit of 70 people per day. We are very late getting the information online this year and we apologize but we hope that you won't mind once you see the fantastic classes that Iris and Carolyn will be teaching. Please go to the Classes page and click on their names to see what they are working on. We look forward to seeing everyone again. SHOPPING BAG DRAW: We have decided to see how environmentally friendly our knitters are by giving a ticket for a draw to each person who shows their machine knit shopping bag when they come into the Academy. Just show your bag at the door to receive your ticket. The bags should be mainly machine knit. One ticket per person, but if you want to bring more bags and show them off to the other knitters that would be great. To get you started, check Pat's pattern in Knitwords #44. Plus check our Freebies for a number of patterns for winter wear. Cardiknits offers a Machine Cleaning Service to knitters whose knitting machines need that extra cleaning and attention. Call us if you would like to bring your machine in for some special TLC. Machine parts are usually available for all brands of machines, as well as sponge bars, the long tailed cleaning brushes and Lori-Lin Lube.
