In 1970, Canadian Space Services Ltd. (CSS) began operations under P.J. (Joe) Coghlan, its founder. In 1981, Allan Duncan and Robert Valiquette began working for the company. In 1989 Allan purchased CSS and in 1993 Robert became a partner. Together, they strengthened the CSS field services capability and broadened its client base to include government procurement agencies and corporations engaged in defence, air traffic control (ATC) and weather radar services. In 1999, CSS purchased a former NATO SATCOM site in Carp, Ontario. This site includes a 10,000 sq. ft. building on 4.9 acres of land which was renovated to include its business offices, a warehouse, a workshop and the employee training facility. The CSS training facility features three radomes that afford unique technical and safety training opportunities. They replicate real-life, real-time work site situations allowing instructors to thoroughly educate and evaluate CSS employees. Today, CSS operates as a prime contractor, subcontractor or service provider. CSS is proud to meet the Secure Facility standards and complies with the Controlled Goods Program of Canada. CSS enjoys an industry-wide reputation for highest quality workmanship, rapid field service response, top safety standards, and effective project management. To date, CSS has provided radome services in forty-seven countries.
