CanadaWild's cofounder and owner, Peter Gatt C.P.C., was born on the small Mediterranean island of Malta. He moved with his family to Canada in the early 1970's. Peter has always been fascinated with photography getting his first camera at only 10 years old. It was a simple Kodak 110 camera but the possibilities of photography excited him even at this young age. Peter expanded his knowledge through Humber College's Creative Photography program in Toronto, Ontario. Afterwards he immersed himself into freelance and commercial photography. However, Peter's main interest has always been in nature, especially wildlife photography. "I can remember, as a child, how I enjoyed going on picnics with my family and sometimes wandering off in the woods looking to see what kind of animals I was able to find." His love for wild animals and the beauty of nature has taken Peter across Canada. Capturing the great diversity our country has to offer.
