Description
Canada Blooms was founded in 1996 by the Garden Club of Toronto and Landscape Ontario. Today, it is the largest flower and garden festival in the country, celebrating the very best in Canadian gardening and floral design! Canada Blooms was incorporated in 1997 as Canada Blooms Horticultural Society, a not-for-profit organization. Our mission is to create a yearly international flower and garden festival which enhances and promotes the awareness of horticulture by featuring the best designs, products and services of amateur and professional participants. Proceeds from Canada Blooms are used to support community projects that promote horticulture and nurture and enhance our landscapes. The first Canada Blooms was held in 1997, with attendance exceeding 70,000 visitors in 5 days - a record for a first-time show! This proved that Canadian gardeners were ready to support a world-class flower and garden festival. In 1998, Canada Blooms moved to the new Metro Toronto Convention Centre South Building, and attendance grew to an astounding 110,000 - a clear indication of the huge number of Canadians with green thumbs! Since then, Canada Blooms has grown to be one of Toronto's most successful events, drawing volunteers, visitors and participants from all across Canada and the United States. Already a popular destination with tour groups, gardeners from Bermuda, France, the United Kingdom and the United States now rank Canada Blooms as being one of the top five shows of its kind. ...
