Description
The Calgary Newcomers' Club was registered in the Province of Alberta under the Societies Act on June 30, 1961. The Club's first luncheon was held the first Wednesday of April, 1961 with 50 women attending. A National Newcomers' Council was formed in May, 1978 and its purpose is to act as an advisory body to member clubs and to women interested in forming new clubs.
